Club Career

• Atlético Madrid (2014–2019): Hernandez developed through the ⁠Atlético Madrid youth academy. Under Diego Simeone, he evolved into a rugged, disciplined defender, helping the club reach the 2016 UEFA Champions League Final and winning the 2018 UEFA Europa League.

• Bayern Munich (2019–2023): He moved to the Bundesliga giants for a club-record €80 million fee. Despite battling several major injuries—including a torn ACL—he was highly successful, winning four consecutive Bundesliga titles and the historic continental treble (UEFA Champions League) in 2020.
